• In 1990, banks filed lawsuits against credit unions challenging their ability to add consumers to their membership ranks. • The banks are trying to eliminate competition. We aren't a threat to the banks. The banking industry is 16 times larger than credit unions, and more profitable than ever.

  • Rather than compete on price and service, the banks are trying to kill the competition by keeping people from joining credit unions. That's why we're part of the Credit Union Campaign for Consumer Choice.
